The weather continues to play havoc with the plans but the church family are adapting to the needs of the builders and the builders are very good and helpful in adapting to the needs of church life. We have now lost our toilet, our water and our kitchen and nearly lost our main entrance. The builders have also laid the concrete footings for the small wall that will run along the front of the church on the high st and by this weekend the main concrete for the foundations should be laid. Tuesday or Wednesday were fine but turned out to be too wet so now it is being delivered on Friday 01 February. Inside the structure that has been built along the south wall they are dismantling the brick inside wall to prepare that wall for cutting through. Consultations have been on going with the Diocese about changing some of the doors to allow more glass (the faculty has to be changed) and there are lots of drawings being e mailed back and forth about roof structures, lighting diagrams, 15 different types of doors and the exact look of the new front entrance that takes into account unsightly mechanisms and good use of glass. This was the week that we held the annual church cabaret and we are expectant of a really fantastic effort.
