You can now see the blockwork starting to go up the sides by McColls and a metal tower structure that encloses scaffolding so the builders can start working on demolishing a bit of the south porch and its roof. The wind and then more snow has not helped! Inside the partitioned off area they continue to prepare the windows for new doorways (The Diocese had a meeting and have allowed us to put in full glass doors.) A small team has nearly decided on the colour of the carpet, walls, lino and the lighting scheme. We are also looking at ways of freshening up the narthex to be in line with the standard of the new extension and for it to become a good quality meeting room rather than just a bit at the back of church. The steel has now been fabricated and is in the builders workshop and we are making plans for the delivery of that steel and the impact it will have on our car park. It was great to see the builders there on Saturday – it was such a sunny day that they did not want to miss the good weather!
