After the major work on the girders and steel work last week this has been a week of consolidation. The builders have rebuilt the roof over the south porch (it was tent like, now its sloping) and dismantled the south porch wall and rebuilt bits of it (it will form the new servery and welcome counter). One of the doorways into the church from the extension is being made as well. We are also starting to look at signage for the new extension so that it follows the same theme and can be used on doorways and glass doors. The roof is now on the extension and the only bit to be built is the glass portion in it – you can see the space for it in the roof construction . It will make our extension so light and airy and enhance the welcome to our New Building. The weather prevented the building of the walkway along the front but it is forecast to be better next week and as time goes on we will get a better idea of any delays. We also had an article in The Harrogate Advertiser this week about the project, the amount of money we are raising and how many people are involved in getting it to completion….and beyond!
